One of my favorite parts of the book Was on page 30 when Jin Wang had first come to his new school from San Francisco.
Narrator(jin Wang): "On the morning after we arrived, with the scent of our old home still lingering in my clothes, I was sent off to mis. Greeter's 3rd grade At Mayflower elementary school"
Teacher: "Class, I'd like us all to give a warm Mayflower elementary welcome to our new friend and classmate Jing Jang!
Jin wang: "Jin Wang."
Teacher "Jin Wang!"
I thought that this part of the book was especially funny Because it's stereotypical for people to mess up foreign names The first time they hear it.There was a lot of very funny humor in this book for me. Most of it being Racial based. For example How some of the Asian Characters in the book talk, how some of their school mates stereotype them And how everyone messes up their names. I think that the passage I provided will hook readers through humor because most people are going to want to read a book that makes them laugh regardless of whether it's a comic book or not.

why I chose the book American born Chinese and who I suggest should read
There were a lot of choices of books to read on the list. There were many reasons I chose the book, American born Chinese. The first reason is the other options of books For example finding Alaska... That sounds like a pretty awesome book until you figure out that it's about some sort of romance story. Whereas in my book, American born Chinese, it is a lot of cool characters that figure out new things about themselves. My second reason is that this book has pictures! I'm not the best reader and I'm not the kind of person who sits inside all day and reads. This book was perfect for me because it was like a comic book. I read the whole book in two hours and actually enjoyed it! This was honestly one of the best books I've ever read!
This is a really great book for anyone in the world. Old, young, jerks, saints, anyone. But if I could recommend this book to one person it would be my best friend Emerik. He would love all the pictures because he doesn't like reading either. Also all of the humor in the book would have him rolling on the floor laughing. This is the best book in the world for him and anyone else to read.

Conflicts and Book Structure in American Born Chinese
The characters in the book American Born Chinese are very complex and they all want something.
The main character, Jin Wang wants nothing more than to be a normal American boy. In his early years of school he moved to a new school and was made fun of for being Chinese. He didn't have any friends until he met Wei-chen, a boy who had move there from Taiwan. He later offended his friend so he had no one and in hatred of himself transformed into an American boy like he had always wanted to be.
The monkey Kings conflict is very similar to Jin's because he also wants to be someone he is not. The monkey king wants to be an immortal God and he is willing to do whatever it takes to become one. That includes sacrificing his life as a monkey to become a kung-fu master to become immortal.
In doing this they are both in conflict with themselves. I think the book has this as its conflict to teach the readers to be more accepting of themselves The main theme in this book is it all characters want to be something they're not. So in the end everyone needs to except everyone else and themselves.
This book is structured in three main parts in the beginning, jin wang, The Monkey King, And chin-kee. The story goes back and forth through all their lives untill it gets towards the end of the book. At the end you see how all there lives are connected and how everything makes complete sense.

characters settings and connections in American born Chinese
There were many different characters and settings in the book, American born Chinese. The first character seen in the book was the Monkey King. This character is, of course, a monkey king. Born out of a rock, the monkey king is in ambitious kung-fu monkey who wants as much power as he can get And will take down anyone who gets in his way. Two of the main settings where you will find the monkey king is his mountain, flower fruit mountain, And a dinner party for the gods.
Another big character in the book is Jin Wang. He is a boy born into a Chinese family That lives in America. Most of the book the main settings you will see him in is his school and his house.
The other two main characters in the book are Danny and his "cousin" Chin-kee. They're both seen at Danny's school and Danny's house.
One connection I can make with this book is with my life. In the book there are a lot of characters that want to be someone they are not and I feel the same way sometimes. Like I'm not good enough how I am so I need to change. I wish I would have taken soccer more seriously in the past few years Because then I might be too I wish I was.
